Vault – Import Your Brave Passwords
This documentation provides everything you need to get the most out of your Vault.
Importing Passwords from Brave into Your Vault
This guide explains how to export your saved passwords from Mozilla Firefox and import them into your Vault.
Step 1 – Export Your Passwords from Brave
Open
Brave Browser
.
In the address bar, type:
brave://settings/autofill
You can also, from your default page, click on the
(⋮)
at the top righ corner
Then click on
settings
Look on the left side and click on
Autofill and Passwords
Click on
Password Manager
You will see all the passwords that you have saved on Brave.
Click on
Settings
on the left side
And then click on
download file
, you can find in the section
Export passwords.
Confirm the export, then authenticate with your computer password if prompted.
Brave will generate a
.csv
file (e.g.,
BravePasswords.csv
).
This file should have the following structure :
name / url / username / password / note
Make sure the exported file respects the format shown in Step 2.
Step 2 – Verify the File Format
Open the downloaded file.
Make sure the file extension is
.csv
or
.json
.
Confirm the structure matches:
name / url / username / password / note
If needed, adjust the structure before importing.
Step 3 – Import Your Passwords into Your Vault
Open the Portal
Click on
Application.
Unlock your vault (authenticate yourself).
In the left menu, click
Password
.
Click
Import Password
In the browser list, select
Brave
.
Click the
blue icon
to upload your file.
Choose the exported
.csv
or
.json
file.
Click
Import file
.
Your saved passwords will appear in the vault.
To edit or delete a password, click the
three dots (⋮)
on the right of an entry.
After editing, click
Save
.
